Crucifix – Our Lady of Mt Carmel Primary School, Sunbury

The figure of Christ is carved from Huon Pine. The Cross is of Jarrah to give a contrast to the lighter colour of the Huon Pine.

A base of red gum burl to simulate Calvary gives stability to the cross but the cross can be lifted from the base (it is held on 2 stainless steel pins) for display on a wall. This gives the option of being on permanent wall display but also available for religious ceremonies such as Mass.
