Des McKenna O.A.M – Woodcarver & Sculptor

'Confluence'

Rear view of "Confluence" Commissioned by Lewis Hutchinson Commercial Lawyers, "Confluence" is on public display at their offices at 20 Queen Street, Melbourne. This sculpture represents the partnership between Jame Lewis and Grant Hutchinson who came together from diverse backgrounds because of their strongly held religious beliefs.
"Confluence" incorporates symbols of this coming together and it's outcomes. These include the Southern Cross, a cross without figure, a dove and a sword. The sculpture is 2.3 meters high and is carved from a single piece of Black Box or Swamp Gum from Appin, Victoria.
