Obanya has bred firstly Toy Poodles and then Standard Poodles, specialising in chocolate, for happy companion dogs for over 40 years. Obanya Standard Poodles have also excelled at obedience, agility and show confirmation. 
A Standard Poodle is a large and active dog needing a lot of attention, training and grooming care, but they are a wonderful breed for people who like a dog that is devoted to them, wants to be with them all the time and are really smart and eager to learn. They are not a dog to dominate but to love and work closely with their owner making a wonderful team together. They are not a dog to leave in the back yard. Poodles thrive on being the center of attention in the home.
If you have young children or not as physically active as some - a Toy Poodle maybe the better size for you. Very smart and beguiling, knowing every word and thought you have, they make a wonderful long lived companion (sometimes they don't think they are a dog) and a true friend.
Poodle owners need to find a good groomer/clipper who knows Poodles! A regular 8 week appointment is suggested. The Poodle just loves looking good and greets their owner knowing they look and feel a million dollars! This takes the "too hard" factor out of owning a Poodle, and then only a weekly brush through with a correct pin brush is needed.

Babette was almost 11 years old when she succumbed to an aggressive form of cancer.
This smart, loving and willful adventurous bitch, was the foundation dam of the Obanya Standard Poodles with 5 litters to her credit of strong healthy wonderful pups. All giving a lot of pleasure to many people. It is now time for some of her progeny to pass on her Wonderful, loving, Loyal and 'gutsy' temperament to the next generation........and so the genes continue.
