The Moldrich name has been around Australia since about 1953. My uncle has been part of the first from the land of Ceylon. Oh yes, we proved we had it. We had the Genealogy, the blood checks and the rest of what was required to come to the land "down under". Heck, I even remember liking Vegemite but that was when Australia owned it. It was daunting, coming out to a strange place, with strange customs and expecting to find kangaroos hopping around Melbourne.

Australia is now, was then and will always be a land that gave you a "fair go". I was given that courtesy by radio station 3SER in Melbourne and now I give that courtesy to the ex-patriot Sri Lankan community who understand English.

Radio station 3SER, 97.7 on your FM dial is a community radio station. I have been on radio for about fifteen years and began presenting the Sri Lanka-Australia program about four years ago after instigation from my friend, and now, co-host Sue. I have since encouraged friends Ranjit and Ruby to have a program in Singherlese on a Sunday night. The "Chat with Ryle Program" is a chat program, with open line talk back. We have been able to bring "Up to the minute" news from Sri Lanka, and the world. We have, on occasion gone to Sri Lanka to interview "personalities" and enjoyed the opportunity to talk to many of them. In Australia we have been fortunate enough to speak to many newsworthy people.
